I had some tests done and given some spray to use when necessary.
Mark also shared that he too had experienced this discomfort and we were not sure what was causing it.
I did find that once my Pegasys began to be spaced out further, that these symptoms bothered me less. Now I’ve been taking Pegasys every 3 weeks I haven’t had an issue.
I had an echocardiogram yesterday. My cardiologist phoned me today. She said that my heart was perfect.
My CT angiogram which I had a little while ago was also normal with it being clean as a whistle and a Zero calcium score.
I didn’t anticipate a problem with my heart, I just didn’t know what was causing the issue.
My cardiologist spoke to her haematologist colleague who said that there was unlikely to be a link with Pegasys side effects.
They said that my disease causes problems with the heart with the high platelets and that would be the reason. With the Pegasys lowering the platelets and bringing them down to normal levels now, that would be why I am not being troubled by it.
I am so pleased Pegasys is working so well for me. My haematologist said I am her biggest success story with Pegasys as many cannot tolerate it. She said I am very sensitive to it and I respond with a very small dose and the less medication is great I think
My journey with Hydrea was not favourable at all
Just thought I’d share what I learned today
