After much consultation, I have revised the date once more for our next virtual CAFE CATCHUP (CC), hoping that this date will meet w/ group approval:
Sunday April 10 at 6PM
Before sending out the 'CC Invites' I am just going to look into the 'TEAMS' Microsoft Platform a tad deeper to see if it might better meet our group needs etc...
The 'TEAMS' platform looks to be a simple application that will prove beneficial to our One (1) hour long CC Meeting...

Please accept my apologies for having to take some time to return to this Topic, & most important event. Incidentally, MATES was created specifically for the purpose of lending support to each other, & MPNers, their families & friends etc…
COVID – 19, has certainly caused a great deal of disruptions over these past two+ years, & for many people, they’ve missed out on spending time w/ family, or even taking vacations etc…
Therefore, and after a great deal of consideration & consultation w/ other members, the ‘Physical’ Café Catchup will temporarily remain on hold.
(Happy to make a new tentative date for say late May, if that suits most?)
Many have reiterated to me their apprehensions over the present ‘state of play’ where CV–19 & its new variant are concerned. It was therefore decided that a number of safety protocols could be employed, in order that we might all remain safe & well etc…
Measures like finding a suitable alfresco café, w/ covered outdoor capacity to cater for a minimum of say a gathering of 12 people, is not always as simple as that might sound. However, a couple of venues were eventually sought & a tentative booking made…
Nevertheless, and after further discussions w/ MATES members, it has now been decided to revert to the virtual option that we have also engaged w/ in the past. Previously, we have used ZOOM, however, I am open to other suggestions too…
Personally, I am not a big fan of using the “Cloud”. Other suggestions might be What’s App or (Merry one of our committee members from Bunbury, WA), has recently informed me of an application known as ‘Microsoft Teams’. Yet & upon looking into using Teams, I have learned that one must download & utilize the Cloud for this App to function.
I for one am happy to stick w/ ZOOM… Naturally happy to hear people’s thoughts as always…
If anyone has any issues w/ the DATE / TIME etc... Please do let me know asap
**A further piece of important news, is that Warwick informed me yesterday that he has succumbed to a bout of COVID-19 & was about to attend a hospital in order to receive some form of related treatment, to assist his compromised immune system. Hopefully, he will still be able to attend our virtual Cafe Catcup too...
In any event, my apologies again for this late Post on our Café Catchup, & my promise that we will attempt this all again very soon, hopefully by late May, 2022 (?)
Hopefully I will see you all shortly...
