HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL...

This Post is just to welcome you all back and to remind you of when our next 'Cafe Catchup' will be taking place etc...

Our last meeting with our Special Guest Dr Cecily Forsyth was simply wonderful... Not sure about the rest of you, as it was a tad hard keeping track of everyone during the meeting (tad over 20 guests on the night). However, it was both insightful and an absolute pleasure to have had such a well-informed MPN Specialist to generously provide us with so much of her time... Thank you again Cecily...

In our next Cafe Catchup in February, a well-known MPN patient advocate & author will be joining us to discuss her book which is all about the 'Lived-Experience' of navigating an MPN journey... Should be interesting, I shall Post all the pertinent details in due course...

Thanks Steve, did you record the meeting with Dr Cecily at all?

Hey morning Sharon...

Unfortunately no Sharon, I cannot record a meeting ethically unless all attendees have provided prior consent etc.

It opens a can of worms, in some respects as many suddenly find that their 'not sure' they want to be recorded, and that in itself might prevent others from attending. Hence, at this stage, our Cafe Catchup meetings remain unrecorded.

However, I promise to raise this point with our Committee Members & ask them how they'd feel about recorded meetings etc?

Me personally, I do not have any issues with being recorded, however it is a difficult task at times trying to meet the expectations of all others...

Hope you enjoyed Cecily's input, and the meeting in and of itself, it was most insightful for me...

Yes, I ceased publishing Ship2Shore back in 2006, (last edition). However, I did not realise at that time part of the reason it had to cease was because I could no longer do so many things at once...

Anyways, good news for you is that both Mark & Peter appear to hale from Port Macquarie... Some time back I spent a couple of nights at the NRMA Carapark & Huts, right on the waterfront... Awesome spot! Loved it there too... Hopefully you'll meet them at our next Cafe Catchup on January 12.
