Hello Everyone, 😊

I wanted to drop in and share some exciting news with you! I've created an online chair yoga course and I'm thrilled to offer it for FREE to all members on this forum who are living with a blood cancer diagnoses.

Although it's promoted as a teacher training, I've carefully designed it so that it is accessible to everyone.
If you're interested in giving it a try, please don't hesitate to reach out to our wonderful Steve. He'll be happy to connect you with me. Looking forward to sharing the practice with you! 😊

Here is a link to the course -

I have listed below some of the benefits of chair yoga and how it can help those of us living with an MPN.
• Chair yoga involves gentle stretches and movements that can help improve flexibility, which can be especially beneficial for MPN patients who may experience joint stiffness and muscle tension.
• Regular chair yoga practice can help MPN patients maintain or regain a healthy range of motion in their joints, preventing further mobility limitations.
• Yoga, emphasizes relaxation techniques like deep breathing and meditation. Reducing stress can help improve overall well-being and may positively impact the progression of the disease.
• Some MPN patients experience pain. Chair yoga can help manage pain by promoting circulation, reducing muscle tension, and increasing the release of endorphins, the body's natural painkillers.
• Yoga emphasizes deep, controlled breathing techniques, which can be particularly helpful for MPN patients who may experience shortness of breath or difficulty breathing.
• MPN patients often experience fatigue, and chair yoga can help boost energy levels through gentle movement and relaxation practices.
• Chair yoga can be easily modified to suit individual needs and physical limitations, making it accessible to a wide range of MPN patients, including those who may have mobility issues.
• Improved relaxation and stress reduction from chair yoga can contribute to better sleep quality, which is essential for overall health and healing.
• Yoga practices, including chair yoga, promote emotional well-being by reducing anxiety and depression, common psychological symptoms experienced by MPN patients.
Before starting any new exercise program, especially if you have a medical condition like MPN, it's essential to consult with your healthcare provider.

Wishing you wellness and joy,
Amanda

Hi Amanda,
Having done Yoga all my life, I was really disappointed when I finally had to give up for several health reasons.
As I am 82, chair yoga would be a great idea. Unfortunately, I have very little energy as as well as having ET, I have A fib but I miss so much my flexibility.
Yes please, I would love to join in chair yoga. Just let me know how to link up and when, as I am not very technical.

Best wishes,
Katie

Hi Katie :)

I would love you to try the course!
It is completely self paced and there are step by step instructions. You only do as much or as little as you want :) 5-10 minuets a day is absolutely fine.

Also Included in the course are meditations and breathing techniques which are so beneficial when dealing with fatigue (fatigue being my arch enemy!)

If you message Steve he will send you my details, then I can guide you through how to sign up for the course. Also if you have any questions along the way please don't hesitate to contact me, I'm here to help :)

Warm wishes,
Amanda x

Hi Amanda & Katie... :-)

Glad you feel that this might be good for you too Katie... I am also hoping to join you guys in the not too distant future... Just now I am rather inundated... No Ride Training again today! What a day... love this warmer weather, it really does make me feel healthier. Not sure how you guys manage the cold, but I really find it quite painful at times...

Amanda, there is also another person Maria, (who has contacted me from the UK). Is it possible for those elsewhere in the world to join these classes too?
I wasn't sure if logistically speaking, to do so was/is even feasible etc...?

I have emailed Maria, saying that I would ask you and that she ought try to contact you too through your website. I assumed that your contact details are to be found there as well (?)

Anyways, as I said earlier, I am happy to pass on those details to Katie and anyone else who'd like them etc...

Nice informative You Tube Vid' too Amanda... 8-)

Thanks guys...

Best wishes

Steve

Hi Steve!

I will look out for the email from Maria :)
The course can be accessed from anywhere in the world! All of the videos are pre-recorded so you can access them in a time that is convenient for you :)

In a few weeks I will also be uploading FREE yoga and meditation videos to my YouTube page. Each week will have a different theme. For example 'yoga to help you sleep', 'chair yoga dance class' and 'yoga for cyclists' :) :)
I will let you know when these classes go 'live' on YouTube.

Wishing you wellness and joy,
Amanda

This is awesome, Amanda! Thank you so much. I haven’t been able to get on the mat for a while now so a chair sounds much easier to achieve! Regards, Merry
